Statement of Purpose

The American Slovak Club was formed in September, 1935 as the American Slovak Home, by individuals of Slovak descent, who belonged to various Slovak Men and Women’s fraternal organizations.  The club was meant to be a “Home” away from “Home” where people of Slovak descent could speak the Slovak  language and promote and practice the customs their families brought from Slovakia. Today’s American Slovak Club’s purpose is much the same but it includes not only individuals of Slovak descent but all members, of various ethnic descent, a place to enjoy family and friends in an environment that promotes service, good food, and entertainment the entire family can enjoy.
